    I have a Nikon R1 kit, that I never used(don't have SLR camera), that was probably regifted to me. They retail $400+.
    Make me reasonable offer & it's yours.

    Its a speed flash kit for close up photography. If you don't have a macro lens for that d40 I would forget it. In fact I don't think it would fit the d40 anyway. I just picked up a d40x for a backup/travel camera and it kicks your d40's ass. Shoulda spend the extra $200 for another 4 megapixels and other goodies.

    Even though users manual says R1C1, I think it's a R1.
