Because the load is operating off the inverter, it'll never see line spikes or surges, this is the "Line conditioning"
My APC protects my 55" plasma, cable box DVD player and a small lamp for 345watts and will run with that load (345W) for about 8 minutes, (The batteries are getting weak, it's going on about 3 yrs old now) but thats enough time to turn them off normally, and break out the generator crap.
Read more not all UPS units are the same buds. "GOOD" Brownout--Blackout units cost more. Let me be clear tho when I say UPS i am not talking about a specific brand I am describing the units in general. APC makes good units which tolerate voltage swings.

The line-interactive UPS is similar in operation to a standby UPS, but with the addition of a multi-tap variable-voltage autotransformer. This is a special type of transformer that can add or subtract powered coils of wire, thereby increasing or decreasing the magnetic field and the output voltage of the transformer.
This type of UPS is able to tolerate continuous undervoltage brownouts and overvoltage surges without consuming the limited reserve battery power. It instead compensates by automatically selecting different power taps on the autotransformer. Depending on the design, changing the autotransformer tap can cause a very brief output power disruption,[3] which may cause UPSs equipped with a power-loss alarm to "chirp" for a moment.
Some units (really cheap 100 dollar and less ones) don't support this feature and simply switch on when the power goes out. I had this conversation in depth with a friend of mine about a year ago and have forgotten most of what we talked about but I can ask him for some examples if you like. He knows more about it than me.

PhysX - GeForce They missed the 8800 chip on there but its supported as an accelerator. If you've ever taken a HSF off a vid card you can see the chip on the card itself.

funny that they list the 9800GTX and the 8800GT but no 8800GTX

8800GTX was actually a better card than the 9800GTX

got my new toy up and runnin :)

moms work let her take a couple of these home since they got new ones and these ones had bad batteries. So she gave me this unit and I got a new battery for it for $70 shipped. thing works perfect! basically just got me a $650 unit for $70 with brand new battery! not too shabby... and it seems to be keeping up with my power hungry machine just fine...idle my cpu + monitor only puts 40% load on it. running 3d marks to load the machine it only went to 60% load. looks like its going to work nicely

I didn't read all of this sorry, but:

1.) AHCI makes an incredible difference in speed for SSD's. Definately enable it if it won't interrupt your current setup.
2.) A fresh install is the way to go. Windows 7 detects an SSD controller and configures itself accordingly. Without these, you actually run a small risk of burning out the drive prematurely (writes/rewrites)

I have a 2nd gen 80GB Intel x-25m (sata2) and I installed in my JUNKYFUNKPUNKASS HP mini 210. Made a huge difference in boot times, loading times of apps. What it didn't help was the overall rest of the "SUCK" that is my HP Mini 210.... But it did allow me to keep it, use it, and not abuse it with the new mossberg
