well an update:

got the dual 80mm rad in and the 2nd gpu waterblock. new proc is in and clocked at 3.6GHz currently holding 43c (3c more than my e6600@3.4) not bad. dramatic performance increase from the proc in BC2. I can actually run 1080p resolution without chop. 2nd 8800GTX was a DOA though gotta try to pull the GPU cooler off without disconnecting the cooling lines...ugh. hopefully they will take the fucker back and exchange it for a good one or at least give me my money back so i can get another one for cheap..

ugh... nothin worse than doa vid cards. Nvidia is hurting to be sure... i was talkin to my local supplier about it and they are on the verge of dropping them completely due to lack of support and lack of product. The shelves are empty for a reason. Why they don't continue to produce 285's etc is beyond me they are still worth money.

just bought an ATI card for the first time since the 90's. I was a diehard nvidia fan, but I can't ignore all the recent bad reports, driver issues etc. Can't afford to waste money right now either.

If i had to RMA this vid card I'd never get a proper replacement. IT would be some less than card and a refurbished POS. If I did the over the counter warranty i'd just get a 5870 or somethin.
