Thread: The afterlife

Do you believe in a afterlife where you will retain all your memories from this life? heaven... or hell... maybe purgatory...

I refuse to take a definite stance because there is no proof either way. I respect and firmly grasp science so I understand that anything is possible. Anyone that says they believe in science and therefore don't believe in afterlife does not truly understand science. A hundred years ago no one would have believed that we could clone things or make machines that can "think" and analyze things.

If you answer yes or no you are probably lying to yourself.

Nah I was just curious

While I can entertain the idea of an afterlife, I can not entertain the idea of an afterlife where you retain all your memories. That would be impossible with out the engrams that die with your brain.

So I voted No.

No man, once you're dead. you're dead. nothing much too it. Zero, nadda, ziltch. they can cut you up. they can pull your brain out and smash it if they wanted too. All that stuff bro. Gone. Endless silence of nothingness.

Sucks, but one day I will be ready for it.

I have faith that there is more to the beyond than just nothingness. Yes, I do believe there is a GOD and he is there waiting for us to return to him.

This is the only way to go to the "afterlife" without being dead. The other way is meditation(they say). I can't say I can explain it in words. This is my only explanation I can come up with. Each experience is unique and almost completely completely forgotten upon re-entry.
