This is a PS3 exclusive, but I have been mulling the idea of buying a PS3 around in my head for a while now.

This game is Massive. 256 players on the field makes for epic game play. 128 players on a team broken down into 8 man squads. 4 squads in a platoon and 4 platoons in the Company. There is 1 Company leader, 4 platoon leaders and each squad has a leader.

There are vehicles, but I am not sure if any thing in the air is manned. I see AC-130 strikes and Cluster bomb strikes.

The game is set in the year 2025, and you can join 1 of 3 factions. Valor, made from the US forces Valor Company, which had broken off to be come its on independent force. S.E.V.R (AKA Sever) is the Outcast faction. And Raven. The high tech outfit.

These battles are massive. These will go on for a while and it has jump in jump out game play. You get EXP and unlock skills, and as you rank up you can join command squads.

I'll be watching this one.

anyway been playing in the beta for a while now. Game's pretty fun but there is a lot I haven't been able to try out yet. Currently it's running at 24/7 for about another week and a half and then the beta is over

i would switch if they made mouse/keyboard work on consoles for 1st person shooters I've never been able to get into a console FPS / joystick.

From what I understand the servers are provided by sony/zipper and they built a whole new server architecture to support it

The game looks pretty bad ass and I love the 256 man battles; I'm with Hades on the kb/js stuff. I just can't make the transition.

FPS on consoles just take getting used to, but there is always that feeling that "if i had a fking mouse and keyboard that guy would have been dead."

thats because he would have. If they let us use them the joystick people would have no choice but to switch. I've watched my buddy play MW2 on ps3. Most games the time runs out.

Well i wouldnt say the time usualy runs out, its just a lot more spray and pray. One of the best weapon combos i found is using a smg with marathon and you just sprint around spraying at people. The whole game style is kind of like that, which is why i really have not been a huge fan of console FPS since halo 1. Since halo 1 they all seemed to shift towards the unreal tourny/quake feel and away from the counter-strike uber strategy feel. IMO i like games where you can consistently live if your better than other people. MW2 you can be awesome but can still get wreaked on a moments notice.

This game reminds me of Face of Mankind. Which was/would have been a great game but it has been in beta for six years and just now launched with graphics from 04. MMOFPS are fun period until you get a purple heart.

The game play is solid, but is only good if you like hard core ground pounding.

My GF wants to get a PS3 and I think this is what she wants to play.
