Default Need some help installing bf2

Convinced a cod buddy of mine to buy bf2, now he can't install it.

Its a legit copy, with expansions.

Keeps getting md5 error when both on autorun and when installed manually.

Yes, we've tried googling before anyone feels it necessary to be a smartass

    thanks for the help

I had issues once because I was running disk keeper in the background and it was moving files around when they installed and causing problems. Turn off everything!

no.. you need bf2 installed in the registry on the computer you want to play with.

I would try copying all the files off the disks and burning them on to a new disk.

Yea, the EA patcher will even crap out if you have a too high overclock. It's really sensitive.

I suggest you take one stick out and try to install it now. And RMA the stick if you can.

update: took one sick of RAM out, the game installed, but when i went to go patch it would not allow me. the same error came up, so i took both RAM sticks out and replaced them both, the game installed and was able to open in v1.0 patch. so im currently installing BF2:Special forces and patching to v1.1 threw that, and ill update on how things go.
